Big Bad John's is a local legend here in Victoria with
a reputation that has been carried the world over by
travelers for nearly 50 years now. This one of a kind
bar holds the first license to serve ever issued in
British Columbia and is still going strong.

with tree stump tables and burlap seats you can enjoy
a cold draft and peanuts while reading from the many goodwill
messages our visitors have left over the decades, or write

Bar?
What
the heck is a hillybilly bar you're wondering. Well it's
very simple really, in a word it's "casual". In fact it's
so casual we want you to write your name on the walls
and toss your peanut shells on the floor! It's cold draft
and fun times with all of your country and blue grass
music favorites. Suits and ties allowed but you'll want
to leave them at the door once you experience Big Bad
