Juwee, FxFarmer and Bobby Kudlicz: the three headz from the south of Germany, who launched the project Funkanomics in late 2006, have since then been touring extensively in the club scene. They have taken their beat contoured live experience and mixed it with their own funked up style in their productions. A sound that is designed for the dance floor and made up of beautiful crunchy bass lines, coupled with pumping grooves. A merger that works and once it starts can´t be stopped.
In their sets the "Funkos" impress by presenting their sound on four turntables plus a very own live set including breakbeat with influences from hiphop, funk, dope beats, reggae and electronica. They go against the grain of conventional djing so smoothly, that you only have to listen to it once and its inside your head. As a result the crowd is instantly whipped to a frenzy with an imaginative and more approach to dance not confined to one genre.

They say nice guys finish last but that certainly isn’t the case for one of Western Canada’s most talked about DJ/Producers; Neon Steve. This peer-declared nice guy has jumped ahead of the game and is quickly showing why he’s held down top spots on Juno Breaks, Hype Machine and Soundcloud hot charts in addition to taking the 1st spot in Hush Nightclub’s 2010 DJ Challenge. Comfortable rinsing out everything from Disco to Drum and bass, Neon Steve has developed a reputation for producing bass music ranging in tempos with distinct hip hop and funk influences. Anyone who’s had the chance to see him will attest; Neon Steve has an exceptional ability to produce guaranteed boogie down tunes that will have any dance floor poppin off!
Hailing from Vancouver Island and currently residing in Victoria BC, Neon has thrown down in all major cities between Victoria and Winnipeg. In addition to headlining, he’s provided support to some of the world’s top acts including, but not limited to: A Skillz, Rusko, Jack Beats, Zeds Dead, Cut Chemist, Krafty Kuts, Nero, Featurecast, ESKMO, the Freestylers, MSTRKRFT, Freq Nasty, Boy 8 Bit, Pimpsoul, Mooqee, Nick Thayer....and the list goes on.
His production credits boast some impressive remixes for the likes of Datsik and Bare (Subhuman Records), the Beekeepers (Jalapeno Records UK) and Excision and Downlink (Rottun Records), the latter of which solidified a spot on Beatports Top 10 Dubstep chart for well over a month! His resume sports numerous releases including drops on Bombstrikes, Rottun Records, Subhuman, Jalapeno, Punchout and Swing Set Sounds. And as if that wasn’t big enough, he’s received full support from the Bombstrikes and Rottun Records crews which aided in his music getting played at Festivals across North America and Europe including having his tracks played at 3/6 stages at the Shambhala Music Festival!
At the ripe old age of 23, Neon Steve shows no signs of slowing down. Currently in plans for tours across Canada and the UK in addition to collaborations and remixes leading up to a forthcoming EP on Bombstrikes, Neon Steve is well on his way injecting a bit of brightness amongst some of bass music’s brightest stars.

GUMBOOTZ..... Born in Toronto, Cale "Gumbootz" Robichaud, moved to the west coast at the young age of 11. Growing up, he had a major love for music, and knew that one day he would be on a stage rocking out! But it wasn’t until a friend picked up a couple turntables that he realized his true calling; to rock the masses as a DJ.
Over a decade has passed and Gumbootz has since built up a reputation as a hard hitting DJ, opening for world class talent such as The Freestylers, The Breakfasters, Donald Glaude, Bryx, Myagi, Smalltown Dj's and Wood & Soo. He has also hosted a weekly internet radio show on "Icestation.net" and held a weekly residency at Karma Nightclub.
Gumbootz made heads explode at the infamous 'Soundwave' music festival, the 'Victoria Electronic Music Festival (VEMF)', Jump Ship, and countless other raves and parties up and down Vancouver Island. Gumbootz has a lot of experience under his belt and what we've seen so far is only the beginning!
Recently Gumbootz has gotten into the music production side of things along side good friend Dj Generic, who has been teaching Gumbootz the ins and outs of music production. Gumbootz has been working hard to be able to take this into his live sets as well, to create a fusion of DJ set and live PA by linking Ableton, Traktor Scratch and NI's Maschine.
Gumbootz' energy, charisma, and ability to rock the crowd, makes even the most stubborn of party goers hit the dance floor. DJ Gumbootz is definitely not one to miss.
